Purchase of a Freehold Residential Property

  • Legal fee (based on the purchase price of the property):
    • £100,000 – £200,000 = £550
    • £200,001 – £400,000 = £650
    • £400,001 – £600,000 = £750
    • £600,001 – £1,000,000 = £850
  • Fee for redeeming any Mortgage or charge registered against the property £165
  • Case management fee £50
  • Land registry copy fee £30
  • Electronic money transfer fee (per transfer) £40

  • Deed of covenant fee – This fee is often charged by the management company for the property and can be difficult to estimate. Often it is between £150 and £300.
  • Certificate of compliance fee – to be confirmed upon receipt of the lease, but can range between £50 and £150.

*These fees vary from property to property and can on occasion be significantly more than the ranges given above. We can give you an accurate figure once we have sight of your specific documents.

You should also be aware that ground rent and service charge are likely to apply throughout your ownership of the property. We will confirm the ground rent and the anticipated service charge as soon as this we receive this information.
